The mobile takes off

With a growth of 16% last year, the number of mobile subscribers in Tanzania has reached the 31.8 million mark, which out of a population of just over 49 million inhabitants means a penetration rate of 64%. China invests in broadband

The “Daily News” portal published an article about the agreement signed between Tanzania’s Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology and the China International Telecommunication Construction Corporation (CITCC) for the implementation of phase 5 of the National ICT Broadband Backbone. The objective is to bring internet connectivity to rural areas in the country and to increase use for social purposes (e-learning, e-health, etc.).
